Introducing: Studio 360

An inclusive community pottery classroom

This year, Deanna Eckels has created a unique classroom at Eckels Pottery for community and visitors to learn about pottery by giving it a try! Studio 360 will features 2 hour workshops, kids classes, raku firing, and multi-week classes.

Deanna's father, Robert was a revolutionary in the mid-century pottery movement in the US, and he was a well known art professor at Stratford College and Northland College.  One of his goals at Eckels Pottery was to educate people about the creativity and process of fuctional pottery.  He taught over 50 apprentices though the years, and many are now professional potters around the region. Bringing the studio back to a teaching focus is a full circle moment for Deanna, thus the name 360 Studio. She is excited to transition to a teaching and learning focus of the studio, as well as continue her own practice.

We are excited to welcome you to the learning space! Take a spin on the wheel with a private workshop, or find more in depth learning during one of our classes this fall/winter.
